Lauren Morton
Lauren brings out the best in us. Inquisitive when it matters the most. Supportive when we need it. Asks the right questions, and brings new perspectives, and once we’ve discussed all angles, she’s all bought into the grand vision. As we execute towards that vision, Lauren opens her network to us and shares her wealth of Fintech experience. Couldn’t ask for a better partner on this journey.
Lauren joined QED as a Partner in 2019, where she focuses on international investments.
Lauren came to QED from Capital One and most recently led the marketing technology team responsible for building the data and infrastructure to power credit card acquisitions. Prior to that, Lauren spent two years as a Partner at Capital One Growth Ventures where, among other investments, she spearheaded the acquisition and subsequent integration of e-commerce start-up Paribus.co in 2016. Lauren has managed risk analytics, product development and marketing for both secured and unsecured card products during her career as an operator. Beyond Capital One, Lauren also worked for a consumer lending start-up in San Francisco, and a P2P lender in China, and a data analytics company acquired by EBay in 2013.
Lauren is passionate about helping entrepreneurs build innovative, customer-driven products that scale, and has a deep personal interest in bringing un- and under-banked segments into the financial mainstream. She holds a MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Economics and English Literature from the University of Virginia.
When not traveling or meeting with entrepreneurs, Lauren spends her free time aspiring to grow grapes in Virginia’s wine country (which isn’t easy!). She is based in Mclean, Virginia.
